Bleach Fic: All Night's Dreaming 1/? Title: All Night's Dreaming Author: owleyes_arisen; i.e. me. Rating: PG-13 Warnings: Some cursing, extreme fluff. Summary: "It's all right, Kurosaki-kun. I know what you need." Urahara has a secret. That's nothing new. But it's one he shares with Ichigo - and the teen will need his help before it all comes crashing down. Notes: As no one was willing to indulge me in my pursuit of Vaizard!Kisuke fics, I found myself writing my own. Here's what grew out of the twisted confines of my imagination; I hope you enjoy the story. Read and Review? ( Clicky for Ficcy! ) | | Saturday, July 26th, 2008 | | 10:26 pm |
Fic: Shaper Title: Shaper Author: owleyes_arisn Pairing: Ichigo/Shiro Rating: PG-13 Warning: Evil!Rukia. I swear, I have nothing against her in general, but the story insisted that she be evil. Um - cute? Summary: When Ichigo breaks, it falls to Shiro to pick up the pieces. Comments: Thanks to my betas! You know who you are. This fic contains elements of the ballad Tam Lin; the title is something of a tribute to Neil Gaimen's phenomenal Sandman series. Read and review, please? | Al's Zanpakutō: Al's Ecstatic Death Poem is always activated, and resembles a massive stiletto which has a hilt wrapped in pale leather. It produces a poisonous mist that surrounds the wielder. What's Your Zanpakutō? | | | Sunday, April 27th, 2008 | | 7:29 pm |
Poem Just getting into the swing of things again.
It’s always a delight to think in rhyme To stretch and let the stricken poems free To snatch them from the greedy hands of time And feels them stroke the sky and skim the sea
Already I can feel the song begin - The pale, green specters dancing through the shade Each testament to some sweet sacred sin My hands and time and pleasures have thus made.
And in return, I’ll take a gift of thee My oldest comrade – far too soon the night Shall sweep the stricken Shepard in its lee - So leave me just a taste of drowsy light. | | Monday, October 22nd, 2007 | | 7:17 am |
Flames Well. [ Error: Irreparable invalid markup ('<blinks.>') in entry. Owner must fix manually. Raw contents below.] Well. <blinks.> I just got my first flame.
Admittidly, it was for something I actually deserve it for - I posted a post on a community that I subscribe to that was little more then outright spamming. I got several highly annoyed responses, with the result that I rather think I'll never be able to post on that site against without suffering extreme embarassed guilt.
I'm human. I'm not perfect, and I realize the consequences for my actions. I've issued a public apoligy, and apoligized in person to each of the readers who commented. You can't go throughout life without ticking someone off - even so, I'd prefer a lot of people wouldn't be mad at me if I can help it.
This is a first for me. I really thought that my post would be taken in a different light - the "annoyed-younger sibling" light rather then the "just-plain-irritating" light. It was meant to have something of a joking quality -but I rather doubt it was interpretated that way. Ah well. I accept what I've done - time to move on. | | Thursday, August 2nd, 2007 | | 8:07 pm |
DOGGIE! The Dog! The Dog! The Dog that vanished from our house three months ago - is returned!
My God! What are the statistics? A dog lost three months ago actually returning to his former place of residence?
Perhaps I should start from the beginning.
This afternoon, we got a call. A man had found a dog matching Daxie's description, and called the number listed on the tags. Naturally, we were somewhat skectical - still, we went to check it out (I stayed behind to keep an eye on dinner.)
They brought back our dog. Apparently, he was quite tired and dirty when they found him, and he had to be given an extensive bath. Surprisingly, he's really rather fat - much thicker and bulkier then before. His fur's significantly lighter - he's been spending a lot of time in the sun. Current theory is that he's been cooped up in someone's backyard, being fed table scraps - he managed to get out, and was returned to us.
He's really very well behaved. Quiet, almost limp - he's very tired, I think. Isn't moving very much. I'm glad to see that he's okay.
He was always like a big puppy before. I think he's grown up somewhat. Time will tell if it's permanant. | | Wednesday, August 1st, 2007 | | 8:58 pm |
Coldfire Fanfic Title: Hoist the Black Flag Summary: Nightmares, he knew how to deal with. Not so for these other dreams. The connection between Damien and the Hunter is not a static relationship - and what are the dreams of a man long since lost to damnation? Rating:PG-13 Disclaimer: See below. Warning: Hints of Damien/Tarrant slash. Notes: Beta'd by the great and wonderful alighiera. Thanks for all your help! Read and review, people - I love feedback. Posted on my journal - please follow link below. ( Hoist the Black Flag ) | | Tuesday, July 31st, 2007 | | 8:18 pm |
So.
I just got back from a month-long vacation in Scotland.
It was't exactly a vacation - more of a study abroad kind of program - but the workload was light enough and interesting enough to make it a pleasure to do most assignments, and we had plenty of free time for sight-seeing. We stayed in Stirling, a wonderful little town with it's own castle, and I ranged far and wide over the country. Went to Loch Ness, toured Edinbourgh, saw the boarding school JK might have based Hogwarts after - even met a few people who'd actually met her!
It was just - so green over there. I live in a fairly temperate zone - winter's our green month, when the rain brings everything to life. Over here - it's tan and brown most of the time. All that green was really something. The land was old. Living in the US, barely two hundred years old, something over a century is considered ancient, There - it was older. I almost couldn't comprehend the age of some of the artifacts I was introduced to.
Plus, the course was in Warfare in the Middle Ages. Lots of people running around smacking each other with swords. Such fun to learn.
Now I'm back. | | Wednesday, June 13th, 2007 | | 10:02 pm |
In Honor of Zombie Survival Day So.
I'm surprisingly calm about this. Very much so, considering that there are actual hordes of the living dead coming up the freeway. Guess it's true, what they say about my generation - too much violence on TV makes us immune to stuff that would cause our grandparents to hurl.
I don't really want to die. But I'm not afraid of it, either. Then again, who'm I kidding? I'm scared out of my freaking wits. I have no weapons, and I'm next to useless in physical fights of any kind whatsoever.
Yes, I'm a geek, and yes, I've read the zombie survival guide - have a copy of it in my dorm room, actually, for all the good it'll do.
I'm hooking up with a couple friends of mine - large, burley friends, who actually have weapons on campus. Admittidly, they're all swords - but it's better then nothing, right? More importantly, they're all fellow members of my RPG and anime club. Even more reassuringly, they've been coming up with plausible Zombie Plans of their own for years.
If I can make it across campus to their location in time, they're promised me a part in their plans. If I can - if I'm late, they won't wait for me.
I'm throwing spare clothing and water bottles in my backpack, grabbing a chair leg (blunt insturment) and hitting the gym before heading out to their place. The gym offers fencing and saber lessons - the blades are dull, but some of them have nice sharp points, and it's better then nothing.
If my family is reading this - I love you all. Be safe. Please, God, keep them safe.
Goodbye. | | Friday, June 8th, 2007 | | 10:04 pm |
I might not have mentioned this before -
But I hate finals.
Hate. Hate. With a burning passion comparable to that which lingers in the depths of the abyss, surviving solely by the sheer loathing that keeps it cemented in this world.
I'm doing seven chapters a day, four review tests, and over a hundred pages of notes.
And that's only for one class.
Summer can't come soon enough.

Struck with a plotbunny. (Those things are vicious, I tell ya!)
SGA/POC
See, John's mother's maiden name was Beth Turner. And his godfather(and namesake) happened to be one Captain Jack Sparrow...

My dog's missing.
Been missing for a week now; I only found out because my parents called me up and told me. There's still a chance he might turn up - he's gone missing before, only to be found at the dog pound or at an exasperated neighbor's house.
I know the statistics. If he hasn't turned up by now, it's becoming increasingly unlikely that he ever will.
It just - hasn't seemed to affect me. I'm away in college - it doesn't seem real, yet. I don't think that his loss has hit me yet - it might, when I get home. He's been almost a constant in my life, these last few years.
I just - want him back. I want him to be safe, whereever he is. | | Wednesday, March 7th, 2007 | | 10:15 pm |
Title: Cycle and Circuit Author: Owleyes_arisen Rating: PG, PG-13 Warnings: Vague, Vague, EXTREMELY vague spoilers for Tao of Rodney and the basic personalities of the characters. Looking back at what I've written before, I think it's warning enough to state that this is a fic by Owleyes_arisen. A Twenty Things fic. Disclaimer: If I owned them, you'd be watching this on the Sci-Fi channel. As you're not - me no own. Notes: AU. This is a fusion between SGA and Avatar: The Last Airbender. It can stand on its own, but it is recommended that you have some experience with both series in order to understand some of the subtlties of the story. This story was beta'd by the highly talented justalurkr and the delightful druidspell. Thanks again. Summary: Fire to Air, Air to Water, with the broad Earth beneath linking them both. A thought just struck me.
I'm not a terribly important person. Or a terribly interesting one - I suppose. I spend a lot of my time on the internet, reading stories, writing stories, and that sort of thing. I spend an equal amount of time studying for my midterms and striving not to daydream in class.
I'm a geek. I attend anime club religiously, go out on regular LARPing sessions with my friends, and have anime calanders and wall hangers strewn about my room.
But I like who I am. I'm content with who I am. Oh, there are little things I'd like to change - but overall, I'm content with who I am. | | 10:01 pm |
Why Do I Do This?
You are The TowerAmbition, fighting, war, courage. Destruction, danger, fall, ruin. The Tower represents war, destruction, but also spiritual renewal. Plans are disrupted. Your views and ideas will change as a result. The Tower is a card about war, a war between the structures of lies and the lightning flash of truth. The Tower stands for "false concepts and institutions that we take for real." You have been shaken up; blinded by a shocking revelation. It sometimes takes that to see a truth that one refuses to see. Or to bring down beliefs that are so well constructed. What's most important to remember is that the tearing down of this structure, however painful, makes room for something new to be built. What Tarot Card are You? I do really weird things on the spur of the moment. For instance, I just got myself ordained online. ORDAINED.

On Random Subjects For some strange reason, I'm remined of the advice I regularly give family members when we talk about Lovecraft and his novels.
Don't read them after dark. Don't read them alone. Especially - and this is important - do NOT read them with anything even resembling scary/haunting frightening music in the background.
If you must read Lovecraft, read it during the day. In bright sunlight. In the middle of a grassy field.
DO NOT READ THEM RIGHT BEFORE GOING TO SLEEP.
What does it say about me, that I'm planning to take a Lovecraft book with me on vacation? |
